Principal's Message

Easter seems to have come round very quickly with the final weeks of term flying by. We have achieved much in this unexpectedly short term. Swimming lessons have been completed, with Craigie Leisure Centre, once again, complementing our students on their effort, attitude and wonderful manners. We’ve also celebrated Harmony Day, something we didn’t get to do last year. Our students wore outfits that covered every hue of orange making the school a very bright place. More importantly, they joined with buddy classes to reflect upon the importance of diversity and how it makes the world a more interesting place. The day ended with a visit from ZimboyZ, an acrobatic duo from Ethiopia, who amazed the students with their back flips, juggling and handstands on top of stacked chairs. The energy and athleticism presented by the pair was thoroughly enjoyed, with some students describing it as ‘the best incursion ever’. It certainly made up for missing out previously.

Last week, we hosted parent interviews and it was great to see so many of you attend. I am sure you found the meetings valuable and gained a good idea of how your child has settled into their new class and the ways in which you can support their learning. Remember that you can talk to your child’s teacher any time throughout the year should you need an update on their progress. Just organise an appointment with your teacher.

Talking of teachers, it is with sadness that we farewell Mrs Laura Booth, for a short time at least. She is commencing her maternity leave at the end of term. As a well-loved member of staff, we will all miss her, Room 5 students and parents in particular.  We wish her all the best and look forward to meeting Baby Booth when the time comes. Mr Mitchell Steele will teach Room 5 for the remainder of the year.

With all that said, all that remains is to wish you all a happy and safe Easter break. We look forward to seeing all students back on Monday 19th April.
