Have you ever wondered what it takes to be part of the high-octane world of V8 Supercars?

Earlier in June, we were lucky enough to secure a limited number of places for some our Year 6 students to attend the ‘Students On Track’ Program at the Repco Australia Supercars Championship, held at Barbagallo Raceway in Wanneroo. Thanks to a lucky draw, five enthusiastic students were chosen to spend a thrilling day trackside, diving into the behind-the-scenes action of one of Australia’s premier motorsport events.

Throughout the day, students explored the real-world applications of subjects like mathematics, physical education, science, marketing, first aid, event management, and engineering - all brought to life in the dynamic environment of a large-scale racing event.

The Students received some VIP treatment that included free passes, attending a press conference where they ask their questions to some of the drivers, experience the pits area where they could see the cars up close and could watch the mechanics and crew at work, seeing the purpose-built team transporters, attended an autograph signing session, and they got to enjoy the excitement of the Supercars practice sessions, support category sessions and other entertainment on track. It was a busy and action packed day!

I enjoyed seeing all the special things there, my favourite car to see was the Bugatti Veyron, it had lots of carbon fibre and was really cool. The press conference was also great, thanks to Supercars and everyone for organising. (Dusty).
