Room 10’s classroom theme and assembly this term has been based around the novel The Wild Robot, which inspired a cross-curricular project combining literacy with design and technology. Through the story of Roz, a robot who adapts to survive in the wild, we discussed themes of resilience, innovation, and problem-solving. Building on these ideas, we applied our learning by identifying real-world issues within our own school environment and then planning and designing robots that could help solve them. This creative process encouraged us to think critically, work collaboratively, and consider how technology can be used for positive change in everyday life.
