Welcome to Term 2 2025. It was wonderful to see all the students back and engaged with their learning this week. The Kindy students have been enthusiastically planting their garden beds with Mrs Keetch. Room 9 has been working diligently on their Design and Technology projects of Building Robots, the collaboration required to successfully build their Robot according to their design has been outstanding. I hope you enjoy viewing the gallery of learning around the school.

You would have noticed our big Tuart tree outside the music room had a significant pruning yesterday to ensure it continues to grow and that it is safe for the children to sit and eat their lunch underneath. A recent arborist report has highlighted several trees on our site which require either removal or pruning and this will be happening over the coming months. We will also be getting replacement trees for those that will be removed.

We started the term with a well-attended Parent Information Session on Helping your child read at home, where parents were treated to a range of strategies and ideas to engage their children in reading at home. This was presented by Kate Doleman and Michaela Stone, speech pathologist from West Coast Language Development Centre. Next week we have the annual Mothers’ Day Stall and Morning Tea, be sure to get your tickets on QKR as it is a fabulous community event hosted by the P&C.
I am pleased to inform you that Caitlin Collins, MLA for Hillarys has confirmed her election commitment to resurface the Netball court and update the landscaping in the Early Childhood playground. Planning is underway and the work will hopefully be carried out in semester two this year.
