WOW what a great effort Room 10 made in presenting ‘The Zones of Regulations’ as their assembly piece on Thursday. Showing us all how we can use different tools and strategies for self-care, regulation and overall wellness. They did a wonderful job, and their enthusiasm and obvious enjoyment on the day was a joy to watch. TOP EFFORT!

Kindergarten Nursery Rhyme Olympics
Our Kindergarten students had a fantastic end to the term with a Nursery Rhyme Olympics event. The students participated in a range of fun and exciting activities, including the Baa Baa Black Sheep Sack Race, Hey Diddle Diddle Hurdles, Humpty Dumpty Egg and Spoon Race, Golden Goose Waddle, Wheels on the Bus Discus Throw, and Jack and Jill Water Pail Race. The enthusiasm and energy of the children were simply contagious, and we are so proud of their efforts.
We want to thank the parents who generously volunteered their time and helped make the event a huge success.
Wednesday, 8th March was our first running club of the year. What a fantastic turn out we had with over 40 students attending, to start their journey of becoming fit and aiming to reach the running club milestones of 25km, 50km, 75km and 100km!
We have now had 5 great weeks of running club, and the students haven't lost their momentum. Having fun, getting fit and reaching goals!
Thank you to Mrs Lyndon and Mrs Smith, and Mr Croome who have assisted Mrs Thorby over these weeks.

On Tuesday 7th and Tuesday 14th March, Phys Ed classes had the opportunity to participate in a Rugby Union Clinic with Coaches Nicholas, Sean, and Cristiano. Together they taught the students some rugby skills such as passing, catching, and how to score a try as well as fun games where the students could apply their skills. A great time was had by all! If your child is interested in playing rugby union our local club is Joondalup Brothers.

On Tuesday the 28th of March, during the Phys Ed lessons, students participated in an AFL Clinic run by Coaches Nate and Alexis from WA Football.
Students learnt AFL skills such as handballing and kicking, participating in activities practicing these skills.

During Phys Ed classes this week, students had the opportunity to try their hand at Squash. Tim, from WA Squash, brought his inflatable squash courts to our school and taught the students some squash skills as well as how to play a "rally" in the inflatable nets. The students really enjoyed this unique experience.
If your child would like to have a go at junior squash visit www.squashfactory.com.au for all the information.

Ocean Reef SHS Band Performance
Last Thursday the Year 4-6 classes were treated to a performance from the Ocean Reef Senior High School Year 10 Band. We were amazed at the talent the band show and the students learnt about the exciting opportunities ORSHS has in their specialised music program. The performance was made extra special by past students Ruby B, Milla S and Aiden K performing.

The FORCE is strong in this one! Marley Pearce
Congratulations to one of our Mullaloo Heights past students, Marley Pearce, who made his Super Rugby Pacific debut recently playing for the Western Force.
Marley came on in the second half playing against last year’s Super Rugby Grand Finalist, the Blues who are based in Auckland, New Zealand. The Blues got the win on the day, but Marley who is still only aged 19, was very impressive with a number of strong ball carries, solid defence and was very powerful in the scrum against a team that included many of New Zealand’s best players.
His Western Force debut has capped off what has already been a special year for the 2015 Mullaloo Heights Head Boy, as earlier in the season he was named in the 2023 Junior Wallabies team.
Mullaloo Heights is very proud of his achievements and wish him all the very best on his rugby journey. Marley Pearce is a name we are sure you will see a lot more of in the future.

NAPLAN testing is now complete. Well done to all our Year 3 and 5 students for the effort they put in during the range of assessments. I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our Year 3 and 5 testing team of Mr Libbis, Ms Embling and Mrs Nixon for their great work preparing for, and administering the NAPLAN tests. Student results are expected at the end of Term 2. We will notify parents when these become available.
Thank you
Mr Adlam
